Dear reader,
As we face a heat wave in Philadelphia this week, I hope this email finds you keeping cool and having a great summer.
We have an exciting selection of information and offers in this month's newsletter. If you're investigating study abroad programs, IIEPassport.org now has even more information about prospective programs online. We have in-depth details of programs including accreditation status, number and type of credits offered, length the program has been offered, orientation information, and much more. Search for programs and check it out!
We're featuring two articles this month related to the career benefits of international experience. Marc Cappelletti of Global Experiences has contributed a wonderful article on getting internships abroad that covers many of the questions students have about international internships. A definite must-read if you're considering working abroad.
If you're already planning to study abroad and won't be able to pursue an internship, don't despair. We also have an article by Jean-Marc Hachey outlining some of the simple but effective steps you can take to improve your career prospects while studying abroad.
In other exciting news, we have our first featured student, Ilene Tillman who has contributed an article about studying in Spain to accompany our country of the month article. If you've studied abroad in Jordan and would like to be featured next month, please email me.
Also make sure to check out CEA's program in Europe's cultural capital of 2005 and the British Council's fun and funky cool UK list.
Stay cool!

From its cultural treasures and stunning architecture to the excitement of the running of the bulls and its buzzing cities, Spain is an enchanting and invigorating destination for studying abroad.
An understanding of Spain's rich culture and history begins with its geography. Located on the second biggest peninsula in Europe at the crossroads of Western Europe and North Africa, Spain has been influenced both by various European cultures and the Moorish culture and history of Morocco and Northern Africa.
Once part of the Roman Empire, Spain displays an architectural and artistic history from that period as well as influence from the period when it was under Moorish control. Religious influences also played an important role historically in the country's art and architecture as well as holidays such as Semana Santa (Holy Week).

These 5 Points offer an unobstructed view of the most crucial and questioned aspects of interning abroad - Placement Variety, Increased Responsibilities, Qualifications, Paying for an Unpaid Internship, and Post Internship Rewards - and will have you one step closer to improving your professional prospects and personal development.
