Happy summer. We here at IIEPassport hope you're enjoying the nice weather and are finding some time to relax. But if you're using whatever break you may have to research a study abroad experience, we have a few items that might be of interest. First, there's a terrific internship opportunity in German parliament that offers a monthly grant of € 450, free accommodations, health, accident and liability insurance, and even reimbursement of travel expenses. But the deadline for application is June 30, so you have to act fast. Next, you should take a look at our featured Destination of the Month - Austria - as well as our featured City Portal - Vienna. Finally, if you'd prefer to study in the UK instead of Austria or anywhere else, take note that a new British law imposes new criteria for obtaining a student visa. British Council - Studying in the UK this fall? Are you a US citizen studying on a program longer than six months? Do you plan to work while you study in the UK? If you answered "yes" to either question, don't forget to apply for entry clearance!Also, be aware that a new British law requires entry clearance applicants to submit biometric data (10 finger scans and a digital photograph), when applying for a UK visa. Be sure to apply for your clearance at least three to four weeks prior to travelling, but not more than 90 days before. Read more about the process in the British Council's helpful Visa FAQ section.
